Do you hear the crickets chirping?

It's been quiet for a while on this part of the blogesphere. And although I haven't fully launched this blog in my own public circle--so really, no one really knows about it to even feel its absence-- I feel guilty for having gone on this long without an update.

The reason for this radio silence is that I travelled halfway across the globe to Pakistan to attend a cousin's wedding and visit family--after 20 years, that is. It's been emotionally overwhelming, and physically I feel like I've been hit by a bus. My journey lasted about 30 hours, with all the layovers and connections and ever since arriving I've been jet-lagged and sick. I had all these lofty notions of regular photo updates and I imagined that the long hours in the plane would afford me hours of opportunity to write in my journal, which would've been raw material for blog entries later on... LOL. I wrote a paragraph... and spent the rest of the trip trying to find a comfortable position to sleep restfully (another thing that never came to pass). I never knew how exhausting finding sleep could be and my eyes and head literally ached with exertion from such a futile search.

This wedding week has been hectic, to say the least, but all the festivities will end by Sunday. Perhaps then I will find a better routine to sink into, which will bode better for this blog.

Until then...
