Resolve and Relevance

So here it is... my photography blog which I have been "meaning to start" for the past two years. Finally the ridiculousness of saying that over and over again impelled me to this point... I have a ridiculous amount of photos which I need to share, but I realize that the stories behind them may no longer be relevant to the present (so now I have to figure out a creative way to share them). I have a portfolio website that I've been working on since forever. And I have over 3,000 photos on an external three terabyte (a number as ungraspable to me as nonillion--yes, that's a real number) hard drive , the thought of which, alone, makes my mouth dry and drives me to mindlessly browse through Pintrest instead. (Yes, I'm a procrastinator. Also, I am not the best manager of time, as are all procrastinators.) But as 2013 starts, I have resolved to quit making excuses and get my photography out there on the blogosphere. I am really going to make an effort to stay constant and motivated, which I realize is so important for any photographer who wants to make any sort of impression on the world.

So, here's to posting regularly, to staying relevant and, most of all, to having the courage (which I severely lack) to open up and share my photography and perhaps something of myself to the world.

At this point, I guess, I should share at least one photograph...

This is from a hike Adam and I took this past weekend. The rest of the pictures will have to wait until a later time... There's only so much I can overcome as a procrastinator.

Lastly, those of you who are here, reading this, I consider you my guest. In the Islamic tradition, guests bring honor to their host, and having a guest in your home means an outpouring of blessings from God. Though I cannot extend you food and drink, know that I am overjoyed at having you come to my tiny little space in the cyber world and I'm sending a little prayer out for you! Hopefully, your presence here will bring blessings my way as well. So let's begin this... Bismillah! =)
